How to whip up reports fast when you’re on a tight schedule

So you’ve been called into a meeting. Maybe it’s an important one which could end with a pretty big deal being closed. You’re on a tight schedule, and then… crap! You realise you’ve forgotten to bring any important documentation you need to help close this deal. Hey, I don’t know how you’ve managed that either, but for the sake of this blog post, suppose it did. What would you do?

Let’s face it, these days we’d be lost without our smartphones. Over 50% of us wake up and the first thing we do is reach for our phones. In fact, according to Sharethrough’s CEO and founder Dan Greenberg , 60% of 18-25 year olds said they’d rather amputate a finger than lose their phone forever. Mad, isn’t it?

Wouldn’t it be great if you could run your sales process from your phone? If you could pull up the most urgent information, right whenever you want it? Well, conveniently, using the Salesforce1 app you can run your business whenever, wherever, with just the tap of a finger. Here are some of the things you can do with it:

  1. Edit documents on the fly

  2. See urgent messages

  3. Collaborate instantly with customers or colleagues anywhere

  4. Drive sales, align your team and keep all CRM data current

  5. Instantly access any record using Contacts, Accounts and Opportunities

  6. Use Lead tracking and convert leads at any time

  7. Organise cases using Case Management from anywhere

  8. Pull up sales figures via dashboards and reports with real-time views for sales, service, marketing, and business performance.

What’s more, Salesforce1 is getting faster for iOS users in Spring ’17! According to the Salesforce Spring ’17 release notes, and because of the feedback from customers and Apple’s recommendation, the app is transitioning to WKWebView to provide an improved experience for iOS users. This is an updated way to display interactive content inside of mobile apps, so it’s expected there will be:

  1. Faster and more stable experience

  2. 30% faster performance

  3. 70% reduction in memory usage

  4. Many long-standing web content known issues resolved.

iOS and Android versions of the Salesforce1 app are available to download on the App Store and Google Play. It’s also available as a web-only app that can accessed on any browser you fancy. All you need to do is log into any Salesforce1 enabled Org and then append /one/one.app to your instance URL (for example, https://na12.salesforce.com/one/one.app) in order to access the web version of Salesforce1.
